DGLC Group "Sustainability: Our Guiding Compass for a Brighter Future"

Operating sustainably is a commendable goal! To achieve it, consider a holistic approach that addresses environmental, social, and economic aspects. Here are some steps you might consider:
  • Energy Efficiency: Reduce energy consumption by using energy-efficient appliances, LED lighting, and optimizing heating and cooling systems. Consider renewable energy sources like solar or wind power.

  • Resource Management: Implement waste reduction strategies such as recycling, composting, and minimizing single-use plastics. Also, choose suppliers that prioritize sustainable practices.

  • Water Conservation: Implement water-saving technologies such as low-flow faucets and toilets. Reuse water where possible, such as collecting rainwater for irrigation.

Our environment

Sustainability encompasses more than just eco-friendly practices; it's about fostering long-term prosperity by balancing economic growth, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility. While spending money sustainably is crucial, true sustainability also involves generating revenue in a way that respects natural resources, minimizes waste, and uplifts communities. This holistic approach ensures that profitability is not achieved at the expense of the planet or people, but rather in harmony with them. By prioritizing sustainable business models and ethical practices, organizations can thrive economically while preserving the health of our planet and enhancing the well-being of society for generations to come data as a basis for CO2 reduction Where should we start? The best place we are in is ourselves. Because only those who know where their emission sources are located can control and eliminate them. This is exactly our goal, and it's why we calculate our corporate carbon footprint. First, we focus on our direct emissions, such as fuel combustion in our company cars (Scope 1) and indirect emissions from the production of purchased electricity, heating or cooling (Scope 2).

Sustainability means making money in a sustainable way, not spending it in a sustainable way.

We are committed to optimizing the use of limited – even limited – resources. Even better, we promote methods and materials that have a positive impact on the environment. Digital technologies, new methods and alternative materials are in demand. They are "eco-intelligent" and reusable.

The sustainability of a product is characterized by its life cycle: How are the raw materials extracted? How are they processed? How efficient and ecological is the manufacturing process? And how is a product recycled in a sustainable manner when it reaches the end of its life? In our industry, we pay special attention to the usability of our products. Quality and workmanship are important to their longevity. This is our focus. Our products focus on life cycle. How much CO2 emissions are associated with the entire life cycle of a product? This question is important today because customers also need to be able to make environmentally conscious decisions. Product carbon footprint (PCF) can help provide the answer. Net-zero by 2040 We aim to be CO2-neutral by 2040. The first important step toward that goal is to calculate our Product Carbon Footprint (PCF). We can already provide a PCF for each item across our entire product portfolio, which also informs our customers how much Doka's products contribute to each customer's own CO2 footprint. Additionally, PCF enables us to identify CO2 hotspots throughout the life cycle of our products and implement targeted measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We use our PCF to develop future climate-friendly products: this is a central part of our climate strategy. Decarbonization of the construction industry One thing is clear: concrete construction must be more sustainable, especially with lower CO2 emissions.
